SSR Selfie

I did a can do task called SSR Selfie.

First you read a book then pick a non fiction or a fiction slide, for example if your book is fiction you choose the fiction slide, then you take a picture then put it on the slide, then after you wrote the author the illustarter and the main character.

Lastly you recount what has happened in the story so far or facts about the book, then you write down three new words and write down each meaning if them in your own words.

I enjoyed this task it helps me on my reading and spelling. I did well on recounting what happend in the story so far. I need to improve on write the meaning of the words.

Commanding Conversation

I did a task called commanding conversation.

To do this task you can pick a picture you like out of many options, then you write a imaginary story simple short or long story that looks like it is happening in the picture.

I enjoyed this task, I did well on writing my simple story. I need to improve on writing longer storys.

Basic Facts

I did my basic facts boxes.

I got 98/100, I did times tables in random order, my time limit was 3 minutes, and 28 secounds, I think I need to be faster and try and get no mistakes.

I enjoyed this task, I did well on trying to be fast, I need to improve on getting them all correct.

Visuallising

I learnt what visualising is.

First we revised what metaphors and similies were, then we also revised the four different story types,

Then we drew an example of what visualising is. 

Lastly we moved on to do our task, our task was to read three different slides, 1 fiction and 2 non fiction slides.Then draw and visualise what I think is happening in the story.

I enjoyed this task, I did well on drawing the pictures for the story, I need to improve on drawing better.

 

 

 

Kelly sport | Sprinting

Today for kelly sport we practised sprinting.

First we played a game called rats and rabbit, we got into partners and each partner would face eachother, one person was a rat one person was a rabbit. If someone called rat the people that are rat would run away and the rabbit would chase them.

Then we walked a round and if he called out tip toe we would have to tip toe instead of walking, and if he called out running we would have to run. After we played tic tac toe, we went into a group of three and tried to get three in a row before the other team made it.

Lastly we did some running races like one of them were to get into a group of 4 two of the people had to go to the back 2 had to go to the front, the first person and the front had to run to the back, then first person at the back would run to the front, then the last person an the fron would have to run to the back, then the last person at the back would have to run to the front.

I enjoyed this taks it helped me on my running skills and it helped me to learn some new games. I did well on rats and rabbit. Split Strategy

This week for maths we learnt additon and takeaway split stratgey.

On Monday we learned addition using the split strategy. We had to big numbers, for example 237 + 651, then we split the smallest number like this, 200 30 70 we, we plused it all with the biggest number. Then you plus 651 with the first big number than you add it up and plus it with second number the add it up again and add it up with the last number for example, 237 + 651, 651 + 200 + 30 + 7, 851 + 30 + 7, 881 + 7 = 888, there we got the answer.

On Tuesday we learned subtraction with the split strategy. Then lastly we did the exact same thing but with the minus and instead of three diggit it was two digits.

I enjoyed this task because we learnt two ways of split stratgey, I did well on adding up. I need to improve on explaining the split strategy.

Modes of transport

I learned the 4 types of modes of transport.

First I learned the different types of modes, land, sea, rail, and air.

Then I wrote on piece paper what types of vehicles can go on land, sea, air, and rail. After I made a slide of one vehicle that can go on sea, land, rail, and air and talked about what it can do, for example airplanes that goes in the catergorie air, travels through the sky and brings people to places.

Lastly, I talked about what transportation is, transportation is when a vehicle or a type of machine takes you to a place.  

I enjoyed this task, I learnt a lot of different things about vehicles when researching, I did well on writing what transport is.
